About Us

North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry, has worked alongside low-income individuals and families to build or rehabilitate homes that are safe, comfortable, efficient, and affordable. Our mission is, “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.” We provide a hand up for people to help themselves out of substandard housing while transforming vacant or blighted lots in Iron Range cities.

We have maintained the capacity to build at least five homes with households in North St. Louis County since 2007. Since our founding in 1995, our organization has served 122 families with homeownership opportunities. Community support provides volunteer labor to build homes and staff committees. Individuals, businesses, churches, nonprofits, foundations, and government sources all contribute funding toward that effort. In our vision for the future, we look forward to “a world where everyone has a decent place to live.” That vision means all people, no matter what they look like or what their background is, should have access to affordable homeownership.
