About Us

Discover the Range is a nonprofit destination marketing organization funded primarily by a 3% lodging tax. Our service area includes those communities with participating lodging properties and campgrounds: Hibbing, Chisholm, Mountain Iron, Virginia, Eveleth, Gilbert, Biwabik, Aurora, Hoyt Lakes, Embarrass and Meadowlands. It's our job to promote our communities, attractions, dining, lodging, shopping, trails and more to increase travel and tourism to our region. We do this through a robust marketing plan with campaigns that highlights the unique features, history and activities found here throughout the year. We also support our local hospitality industry with our Certified Tourism Ambassador program and the Spirit of Hospitality Awards. We lead local collaborative marketing and development programs including Ride the Range, the Arrowhead Coalition of Trails, the Superior National Forest Scenic Byway Council and the resident recruitment and retention initiative, Hello, Range!
